My archival practice is driven by a deep, overriding commitment to a simple goal: to create more inclusive archives every single day.
This means bringing in and highlighting collections that tell stories of people and communities that have traditionally been excluded from archives. This means promoting access to archives widely and often, to create truly radically hospitable spaces. This means using our knowledge to help anyone who has a story they want to preserve. And, above all, this means reaching out to bring people into our profession from all walks of life and all backgrounds.
Done well, none of these are easy tasks. But for me, this is exactly what makes them so important.
